New at Tattoosafe: Minimal Ethic Sustainable Tattoo Supply

5 products from Minimal Ethic Sustainable Tattoo Supply

In this blog you will find five products from our new partner Minimal Ethic Sustainable Tattoo Supply that environmentally conscious tattoo artists can use with a clear conscience.

Let's take up the fight! Let's roll up our sleeves, because we have to do it together! Let's take action collectively against the unrestrained use of fossil fuels! Let's start with the consumables that are produced every day in the tattoo studio! They no longer have to be made of plastic materials, which step by step contribute to the littering of our planet! This is the message that Minimal Ethic addresses to all of us.
At first glance, the extravagantly designed packaging of the station and tattoo couch covers, clipcord sleeves, bottle covers and razors by Minimal Ethic catches the eye: The "Minimal Ethic" lettering, reminiscent of magical symbols, is framed by a floral design. This beautiful ornament indicates that this tattoo equipment is made from 100% plant-based materials. This means that it is not made from fossil fuels such as oil, like comparable plastic products.

Accordingly, all Minimal Ethic products are also one hundred percent compostable. The attractive packaging is, of course, made of plain brown recycled paper, without any fancy stuff like glossy foil coating or an additional outer packaging made of plastic film. And what's inside?

"These razors perform very well, especially the CO2 emissions," says Minimal Ethic about the latest product, with which the company takes a good step beyond its range of hygienic cover solutions.

Clean in Studio - clean conscience!

By using products like these, which are made from natural materials right down to the packaging, you can make a direct contribution to counteracting the littering of our planet - day in, day out, with all the little measures that go on in the studio to prevent cross-contamination and thus protect against bacteria and viruses, or even chemicals.

Minimise further damage to our climate as often as you can! Please support a new concept regarding raw materials and disposal in all details of your daily tattooing life!

Not only the new disposable razors, clipcord sleeves and bed, station and bottle covers from Minimal Ethic Sustainable Tattoo Supply will help you, but also numerous other products from the Tattoosafe range. For example, the biodegradable machine bags, pen covers, clipcord sleeves and washbottle bags from Elephant Professional Tattoo Products, which are made from the bioplastics polylactide acid (PLA) and polybutylene succinate (PBS).

In some cases - such as with the clipcord sleeves and washbottle bags - you can choose which format (or simply which color, black or green) suits you best. Often the products complement each other: combine the station and couch covers from Minimal Ethic and the biodegradable machine bags or pen covers from Elephant to achieve maximum ecological compatibility in your studio equipment!

That would be minimal ethical practices in tattooing.

Ethics - and what is it, anyway?

Ethics in itself is a branch of philosophy that deals with the distinction between "good" and "evil" or the "right" human behaviour in all areas of life. It deals, for example, with questions such as human dignity, tolerance, personal freedom and other great values in human coexistence; and today, increasingly urgently, also with environmental protection.

Ethics, like so much else, was invented by the ancient Greeks: The philosopher Socrates (469-399 BC) was the first to elevate ethical questions to a central theme of his dialogues, and Aristotle (384-322 BC) then made ethics - alongside biology, physics, logic, natural philosophy, the theory of the state, science or poetry - into an independent scientific discipline.

The Ancient Greek word "ethos" means tradition, custom or habit; it generally describes the way in which a person leads his or her life. However, ethics does not simply observe this way of life, but evaluates it as wrong or right. And in doing so, not only the concrete deeds of a person are judged, but also what he intended with them, the reasons he has in the back of his mind when he does them.

Of particular interest are the dilemmas one can get into when making decisions about one's actions, such as the question of the extent to which we violate the interests of other people when we represent our personal interests. Is our own happiness more important to us or are we prepared to bear responsibility for our fellow human beings and our environment?
Or more concretely: "Do I want to buy as cheaply as possible in order to run my business as effectively and successfully as possible and thus contribute to the gross domestic product?" Or: " Do I want to buy raw materials that are a bit more expensive, but have been produced in an ecologically sound way and therefore help to protect our planet and its climate?"
An ethical rule of thumb that still works well today is the so-called categorical imperative, which goes back to the German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724-1804 AD): " Only act according to that maxim by which you can at the same time want it to become a general law."

Accordingly, the ethical standard is your own will: you yourself must determine the rules of your actions - but always judge whether they are also applicable to all other people and should be followed by them. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is a popular rhyme; but treating others as you would like to be treated is only one aspect of Kant's imperative. The rules by which we act must be transferable beyond our immediate interaction to the general public, the community of all people and ultimately also to the relationship of humanity to the world or to nature: "What if everyone acted like this?
