Johnson Irons: Made in Germany - with passion!
Great machines like the Dotti and the Stitch, sophisticated accessories like the D-Grip or the new Ball Pen Cartridges - Johnson Irons has a lot of tools to make your job even more fun.
The creater
"If you believe in what you do, you can achieve great things." This is the motto that Mike Johnson, the founder of Johnson Irons, began his career by - in fact, as a young boy, assembling his own first electric motor in his father's basement workshop from the scattered parts he found there.
In 1989, Mike started his career as a tattoo artist in Berlin. Through all the experience he gained, the desire to support other tattoo artists with good equipment to achieve their artistic ambitions matured in him more and more.
A proud 30 years of experience as a tattoo artist finally flowed into the two solid rotary machines, thought out in every detail, that Mike constructed for himself and his colleagues in the industry: the Dotti and the Stitch were created by his hand. But Mike didn't stop there, because he knew only very well that it takes more than a good machine to create truly incomparable tattoos.
Two professional grips, either stainless steel or aluminium, and other accessories followed - most recently the highly innovative Johnson Irons Ball-Pen Cartridges, which allow you to sketch with the authentic feel of a vibrating machine.
All this, of course, with a fair price-performance ratio and, for the machines, also with a one-year full guarantee. And surely there's more to come from Mike soon!

The Stitch
Whether you want to create clear linings, soft shadings or striking colorpacking - the Johnson Irons Stitch is definitely the right partner. Mike has designed this rotary as a light allrounder with which you can create all tattoo styles equally well. This is made possible by a selectable stroke length of 3.2 mm (for fine lining and gentle shadings) or 4.2 mm (for linings, colorpacking or blackwork).
This versatility makes the Stitch tattoo machine particularly interesting for beginners, but also long-time professionals are enthusiastic about this reliable rotary machine with the 12 volt coreless motor specially developed for Johnson machines and the optimal price-performance ratio: Its customized eccentric works almost vibration-free and its ergonomically shaped body made of lightweight, anodized aircraft aluminium feels super good in the hand.
With the Stitch, you have the choice between two versions: the plain black Johnson Irons Stitch Black Beauty (weight: 85 grams) and the Johnson Irons Stitch Black Brass (weight: 100 grams), which looks particularly classy with its shimmering gold accents.

The Dotti
The Johnson Irons Dotti shines with another highlight: it has a natural give that is otherwise only known from tattooing with a coil machine. This means that working with it can not only lead to perfect clear lines or soft shading, but also to real moments of happiness!
With the Johnson Dotti you can gently and cleanly model the skin of your customers, and it will not be overstressed even if you work on one area of skin for a longer period of time. The heart of the 134 gram light Dotti is again a 12 Volt coreless motor, its frame made of steel and aircraft aluminium absorbs almost all vibrations caused by the needle rotations.
Very cool are also the four color variations in which you can put "your Dotti" into operation: If you like it simple and classic, the Johnson Irons Dotti Stealth Black is the right machine for you. The Johnson Irons Dotti Green brings natural freshness to your studio, the Johnson Irons Dotti Sea Blue/White gives your work an extravagant touch with cool turquoise. Or why not tattoo delicately in pink and purple? The Johnson Irons Dotti Purple/Pink makes it possible!
And Mike tells you in the video how you can adapt the Dotti even more perfectly to your personal needs:

But it's not just the Dotti and the Stitch that have it all, but also the accessories that Mike Johnson has developed.

The Grips
The Johnson Irons D-Grip, for example, is a grip that couldn't be more ergonomic. An 8 mm recessed needle module holder inside the grip ensures that your hand always remains in an optimal position when tattooing. In a relaxed, less bent position, your wrist moves smoothly and quietly with the machine.
The Johnson Irons Fixed Grips for needle modules are autoclavable and equipped with an inserted Delrin sleeve, which ensures better sliding of the drive rod. They have a diameter of 26 mm and are available in either stainless steel or aluminium (with a stainless steel end tube).

The special feature: The Ball-Pen Cartridges are simply inserted into the tattoo machine like a normal needle module. You can create your design directly with your machine. This gives you an authentic tattoo feeling even before you start sketching, because you can feel the vibes!
The Ball-Pen cartridges are ideal for designs in lining or especially dotworking. See how well it works!
the JOHNSON IRONS Ball Pen Cartridge - how it works
But not only on paper, but also (non-permanently) directly on the skin, you can create the most amazing sketches; all you have to do is stitch them.
Beginners from the age of 12 can handle the Ball-Pen technique just as well as experienced professional artists.
The Ball Pen Cartridges Set from Johnson Irons contains everything you need to get started with this great new sketching technique. It contains four Johnson Irons Ball Pen Cartridges in the colors black, blue, red and green together with O-rings, spare nibs and three spare leads per color as well as a detailed instruction manual.
Tips:
- If you use soft, thick paper or place a silicone mat underneath, you can use Mike Johnson's Ball Pen Cartridges to perfectly simulate how the skin yields when tattooing.
- To avoid the lead hitting the surface too hard, which could damage the machine, you should choose a maximum stroke length of 3 mm when working with Johnson Irons Ball-Pen Cartridges.
- Mike Johnson also advises to use the Ball-Pen cartridges with a second machine rather than with your absolute favorite machine. Although there have never been any problems in numerous practical tests, Johnson Irons is not liable for any damage to the machine that may have occurred in connection with the use of Ball-Pen cartridges.
By the way:
The CNC-machined stainless steel Ball Pen module tip is compatible with most other manufacturers' multi-piece needle modules.
You'll probably be so enamoured with the Johnson Irons Ball-Pen cartridges that you'll create design after design with them, and the 12 spare mines in the starter set will be used up pretty soon. But that's no problem, because with the Johnson Irons Ball-Pen Cartridges re-fills you can replenish your supply easily and inexpensively. For each of the four basic colors you can order a refill with 10 fresh black, blue, red or green refills.
