Since in the everyday work of a tattoo artist the hands are constantly washed and disinfected and since gloves are put on and off very often, the maintenance of skin health is a real challenge. Therefore dry and cracked hands are very common among tattooists.
The Elephant gloves help you to reduce this problem.
The gloves have a special inner coating, which consists of a combination of lanolin and vitamin E.
Dry skin is the result of a lack of moisture in the outermost skin layer, the epidermis. Lanolin, a natural substance extracted from sheep's wool, binds the moisture, preventing the skin from drying out and effectively reducing the risk of cracking.
Vitamin E is a group of fat-soluble substances with antioxidant properties. Through topical application this essential substance penetrates the epidermis and dermis of the skin. Vitamin E plays a crucial role in skin health as it has anti-inflammatory properties, protects against free radicals and promotes wound healing. Researchers have also shown that topical application of vitamin E can improve skin hydration by stimulating the skin's water retention capacity.
The use of this powerful combination of lanolin and vitamin E aims to bring about a significant improvement in skin exposed to constant irritation in tattooists.
The lanolin also builds a barrier on the tattoo artist's skin surface that retains moisture and prevents evaporation, while the vitamin E soothes irritated skin and prevents further damage. For people who alternately put gloves on and off throughout the day and wash their hands frequently, these effective additives can mean the difference between healthy and cracked skin.
Elephant gloves clinically tested
The effectiveness of Elephant gloves has been clinically tested. The advantages of using gloves coated with lanolin and vitamin E are well documented. The Swiss-based Skin Test Institute, which specialises in testing the effectiveness and safety of skin products, carried out a comparison of lanolin and vitamin E coated gloves with standard gloves. The following parameters were compared in three different tests: transepidermal water loss; skin moisture; skin flaking and visible skin condition.
